What is the Fencing Mask?

The fencing mask is the core piece of headgear designed to shield and protect the fencer's face during a fight. While the dense mesh exterior can make it look difficult to see out of from an outsider's perspective, fencers can see out from the inside perfectly well.

Proper Fit and Fastening: It is critically important that the mask is fastened as securely as possible so it does not shift or move around on the fencer's head.
